The hypocrisy of government?

Nothing that you don’t already know, but the people that actually trusts these folks up in Washington is really disturbing? Why do some people in this nation think that they are going to help us out of the current financial situation we are in when the double the deficit?! Yeah, I am biased and lean a bit towards the conservative side but this article found on Fox News shows why I absolutely do not trust the Democratic side of politics. I know, I know…they’re all screwed up in D.C. but the quote at the end of the article, really chaps my hide. Yes, President Bush made his mistakes, but the quickness that (democratic) media tries to point blame at the president, when they should be looking at the ragtags in office.

“It should be remembered that fiscal year 2009 began during the Bush administration, which left in its wake the worst recession since the 1930s, including a sharp plunge in revenues,” said Rep. John Spratt Jr., D-S.C., chairman of the House Budget Committee. “But today’s figures send us the latest alarm. As the economy stabilizes and starts to recover, we will have to turn our focus back to deficit reduction.”

Sir, your party has been in control of the House since the Bush administration, why don’t you pull your head out of your arse and take some responsibility for running up the bills?

Let’s see…what else is wrong with the N.F.L.

Inconsistency maybe? No…that never happens in the N.F.L.

Perfect example(s) of what’s wrong with the N.F.L.

Tom Brady is a pansy. The other 2 things that chap my hide about the NFL is instant replay, and the fact that some over officious jerks are trying to control every aspect of the game.

Is big government tracking blogs through webhosts?

I suddenly feel exposed much like the gowns that we use on our patients that cause their back ends to be flapping about the unit as the meander down the hallway. There was some recent buzz among the political arena that the new administration wanted to begin tracking nefarious websites that were contra to anything the new administration has had to offer. I certainly have my issues with Barry. I think I have more issues with the government and their intrusion into our private lives.

It has long been a premise of blogs and internet postings that you could with some relative ease, maintain your anonymity with your online pseudo-personality or identity. I have also long known that the extremely long reach of government could find on me anything they wanted because they have been an intrusion into the lives of well meaning law abiding citizens for some time now. The subversive guise through the idea that it is a tax issue is a wee bit bothersome. Big Brother is and has been in the house.

I would have to say that yes, my political standings are no where near in-line with the current administration or any of the goofballs in D.C. that have been in office for say…oh the past 20 years. I am no conspiracy theorist by any means and I know the internet has greatly expanded the fear mongering of those that think our government is out to get us. I am beginning to believe them. And why would they have any interest in someone like me? Someone that has next to nil readers of his little opinionated, non-revenue generating blog?  But how creepy is it to receive the following email from your internet or web host provider indicating the following:

Murse C,

The hypocrisy of media? Or the hypocrisy of society?

Now I can hardly take credit for the following but I will certainly post it on the internet. I received this from a friend who is really going to take a hit with the possibility of Obamacare. Now I doubt whether he wrote it as well since I think it’s from an email making it’s way through cyberspace, but you certainly do not hear from the media about any of the dunder headed moves our new president has made. And look at that, 2 posts in as many days as when I haven’t written anything in 2 months! I guess plagiarism doesn’t really count as original.

Obama supporters, be honest now.  Read the following and tell me how you would have reacted:

·        If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

·        If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

·        If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

·        If George W. Bush had miss-spelled the word advice would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as “proof” of what a dunce he is?

·        If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on “Earth Day”, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?

·        If George W. Bush’s administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually “get” what happened on 9-11?

·        If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

·        If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

·        If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again 10 times within years, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

·        If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

So, tell me again; what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. He’s done all the above in just 5 months — so be patient you’ve still got three years and seven months to come up with an answer.

Opining

Yes, I am still around. I’ve just been toodling, doing hobbies, reading, travel and such; surfing the web reading some of my favorite blogs and I always seem to end up listening at the feet of those folks over at M.D.O.D. Common sense seems to have left the building when it comes to a lot of medical care these days and the only people we have to blame are ourselves. When I say ourselves I mean the entire medical community, by allowing those bureaucratic troglodytes who want free healthcare for all to run roughshod over us. I recently found (and unfortunately lost) an article that indicated how many regulatory groups to which the medical community had to answer. The numbers were preposterous. Anyway, back to the point at hand. The paper pushers are too blind from their dim view to see that if we cut half of the administrative nonsense they require, the cost of healthcare would be cut so low, that our current system of care might actually be able to revive itself from the code bed.

Why our Health Care is so expensive?

Well, I’ve just been kind of soaking in being a nurse but more importantly I have been trying to spend time with my beautiful wife in what little time I do have off. I have had the troublesome problem of insomnia creep up on me and when your work nights, that absolutely sucks. I’ll write some post later about that. The other problem I currently have is that my pc has decided to try and take the eternal dirt nap for computers. Good ridance Microsoft. I think I may be able to convince the Mrs. that it’s time to switch back to an Apple. I just hope I can make the conversion and save my (blog) files in the transfer. I am in no hurry.

Anyway, I came across this little gem and I have every intention of sending to the folks at M.D.O.D. just to get their spin on it. I sure do enjoy their educational material. So check out the following and see what has been bankrupting our health care, let alone our ER’s.

Is ignorance really bliss?

Your perspective seems to be different when death affects someone other than those close to you. Does that mean I don’t care? Am I already cold hearted because I (may) appear unfazed by death? Am I a slug when I am emotionless while taking care of someone that means nothing to me other than from what I have seen from them lying in a comatose state in a Rotorest? When I see they have been told repeatedly over and over about their lifestyle and yet continue down a path that involves terrible choices or they refuse to accept the information provided, how am I supposed to feel? Futility can be humbling.

Barack “Marionette” Obama

So Obama goes to Europe to campaign for the U.S. presidency. I try to steer clear of politics because the ‘no common sense’ we see from just about everyone in politics drives my blood pressure through the roof.  Try is the operative word, but the comments he makes ensures the fact that he is just another puppet. He says one thing here in the United States but goes to another country to apologize for the United States?! Okay Barack “Natalie Maines” Obama, DO NOT go to another country and lambaste the USA. Freakin’ idiot!

Two weeks left. Three tests and three papers last week. Four papers and three tests left.  I’ll try to blog more relevant material later…

I love NCLEX practice questions

First of all let me apologize to those of you that have commented since I have taken my sweet time in replying to your insight. I am humbled that you would take the time to peruse my mental meanderings. Thanks to Kim for the support!

Secondly, the reason I have been so lax in posting is my ever busy school schedule. The profs are really laying in on with only a month left. Haven’t they every considered using the calendars in the online material they are so driven to use for presentations?!

Thirdly, I just love me some practice NCLEX questions:

A client comes to the emergency department while experiencing a panic attack. The nurse can best respond to a client having a panic attack by:

1. staying with the client until the attack subsides.

2. telling the client everything is under control.

3. telling the client to lie down and rest.

4. talking continually to the client by explaining what is happening.

Correct Answer: 1 Your Answer: 1
RATIONALES: The nurse should remain with the client until the attack subsides. If the client is left alone he may become more anxious. Giving false reassurance is inappropriate in this situation. The client should be allowed to move around and pace to help expend energy. The client may be so overwhelmed that he can’t follow lengthy explanations or instructions, so the nurse should use short phrases and slowly give one direction at a time.

As if we really have the time in an over-crowded ER with a waiting list of 3+ hours, a gunshot wound, 2 (or is it 3) suicide attempts, an MVC – Ped, an MCC and collapsed lung from a construction accident. Forgive me for not wanting to listen to you freak out while other people might actually die.

What are some of your favorite Utopian questions?
